I love our new Mod Mum Pouch Sling!

I entered this whole sling game a little late. Two years ago when we started Papoose, my son was 8, almost turning 9 and there was no need for a sling for this guy. When he was a baby, I did wear him in a soft front carrier and we had a Kelty Back pack as well. I did not, however, have a pouch sling such as the Hot Slings we carry at Papoose. I must admit, I am not a fan of Hot Slings. Here's why... They are too narrow and don't create a big enough pouch for you to put your baby into, they are too short and they are too tight! All this I discovered while trying to sell them to customers who desperately wanted to purchase a Hot Sling.

Truthfully, I have never offered a Hot Sling to a customer as a choice of the many we stock in our store. I just don't like them and I feel if I don't like it, I really won't do a good job selling it, so I don't. I sell slings and wraps that I do like. :)

While in New York this spring, Holly and I were introduced to the Mod Mum Pouch Sling. Our rep. from Circle Showroom where we buy many of our maternity products asked us to try them out. Holly tried one on and agreed we should try some out in the store. Today, I tried a Mod Mum and was thrilled with how DIFFERENT it is from the Hot Sling. It is all the things a pouch sling should be. Roomy enough to get your baby in without squishing them, loose and long enough so you feel like you can breath and the baby is not laying right on your chest. The Mod Mum comes right to your belly button which is a perfect fit, it is not too tight and it is easy to get baby in and out. I must say that the roomier pouch and the longer length have made all the difference.

They come in small, medium and large and are reasonably priced at $62 The Mod Mum website is great for wearing support if needed and directs you to videos on babywearing. How cool?!
